so i just finished my upcoming EP and it's almost time to share... but what else has this niche indie rockstar been up to, you might ask?

as i'm writing and putting this newsletter together for y'all, i feel a head cold coming on. and it's damn ironic to me that while i'm launching this era that feels so good and special and iconic, i'm sitting here sipping on tea and sniffling– not very rockstar of me, i know. don't worry though, i've spent the better part of the last 2 years writing, recording, filming, restarting, and perfecting this project. and it's making me smile so big to think about you guys finally getting to experience the art that i've been holding so close for so long now. trying not to get sappy but just know that these songs mean a lot a lot to me, and it finally feels like the right time to let it all loose.

i have no shame in admitting that i found Saya Gray from her NPR Tiny Desk- her music is so interesting and eclectic, but not so heady that it can't feel refreshing and simply good. this song rocks
Nausicaä by Cameron Winter
such a good song, such a weird and compelling artist! admittedly i haven't done a comprehensive deep dive on his band, Geese, but this solo album, Heavy Metal, has been a recent favorite. really toes the line of what's considered "good" or "bad" in music, and where the intersection of the two converges to make great art
Born In Early May by mercury
mercury is one of my favorite artists that i found in this past year. this particular song is amazing, it's so incredibly heavy. i recently got the chance to see them play a live stripped set and it blew me away
Dollar Store by Ben Kweller & Waxahatchee
this song is such a great collaboration between 2 artists i love individually, and i think it brings out the best in both of them
Rainbows and Ridges by Blaze Foley
you guys might know that i'm a massive Townes Van Zandt fan, but i recently did a deep dive on his friend, Blaze Foley, and i fell in love with his deep, rough tone and simple yet profound storytelling. the melody on this song is melancholy and beautiful
